Hydrafacial Post Treatment Instructions

After your treatment:

Your skin may experience temporary sensitivity following treatment including redness, tightness, or irritation. These are normal and expected reactions of Hydrafacial, and most will resolve within 72 hours and leave you with the best glow to follow. Skin may be a little tingly or sting in the treated area, but sensations will gradually subside within 3 hours of treatment.

Skin may feel and look smoother and more hydrated. Results last up to 1-4 weeks. Medical grade skincare is recommended to maximize and give you results that last longer.

Patient experiences vary and some may experience a delayed onset of mentioned symptoms. Contact us for an unusual side effects or if symptoms worsen over time.

The treatment area will be more susceptible to sunburn, hyperpigmentation or sun damage. Therefore, make sure to avoid direct dun exposure and use a minimum of SPF 40 sunscreen. We recommend the use of one of our favorite sunscreens by EltaMD!

It helps to drink plenty of water, get plenty of sleep, avoid smoking, eating a balanced diet, managing daily stress, and minimizing the consumption of caffeine and alcohol.

  1. Avoid touching the face for 24 hours.

  2. Avoid sunbathing for at least 48 hours (although recommended indefinitely) to prevent UV rays from damaging your skin which slows down the benefits of Hydrafacial. Patients who absolutely cannot avoid sun exposure should use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher to maintain your improved skin.

  3. Waxing and the use of any aggressive exfoliation should be avoided for 2 weeks.

  4. You should wait 30 days before receiving any medical grade peel.

  5. Avoid heat (hot showers, sauna and intense cardio) for 24 hours.

  6. Topical prescriptive medications and OTC acne medications can be used 48 hours following Hydrafacial.

  7. Retinols may be resumed in 3 days.
